The New Vision School is a step forward, providing hope to the community of Choti Zereen, which is a village situated in the district of D.G.Khan. The mission of the school is to impart education at the grass roots level. This school has been set up on the principle of equal opportunity for education to all. We teach young children not only the tools they require to be active members of the society but also to become positive elements in building a community. Our accomplishments have been outstanding.
The New Vision School is registered under the Punjab Board of education as a nonprofit private school. It was set up in 2001 for the purpose of offering quality and function based education to children from deprived homes and low income groups. The New Vision School was set up by a Trust, named the Leghari Foundation. Sardar Farooq Ahmed Khan Leghari, ex President of Pakistan donated 4 1/2 Acres of land in a village by the name of Choti Zereen in South Punjab, in the district of Dera, Ghazi,Khan, Pakistan. His highness, the late Sheikh Zayed of U.A.E constructed a building free of cost for setting up a school for children from deprived homes.
Initially classes from Nursery to Grade five were introduced with an intensive three month head start programme, to bring children up to a certain level. There was a yearly expansion and six batches of students have matriculated successfully with Sciences.

- To incorporate computers as a tool for enhancing conceptual and academic knowledge.
- To propagate education in a manner so as to make children responsible citizens of Pakistan.
- To evaluate a child’s functional levels in vision, auditory, language, manual and motor skills.
- To provide individualized comprehensive programs to accelerate and improve the physical, mental developmental, cognitive and emotional needs of the child.

The Purpose Of New Vision School
The Board of Trustees of the Leghari Foundation envisioned an educational institution of excellence to overcome barriers of class stratification and race and creed to offer children from deprived homes quality education so as to provide a base for higher education and to make the future generations or this region, agents of positive change. The school aims to produce socially responsible citizens who can contribute towards their families and society to the best of their capabilities.
The medium of instruction is English so that our students are able to compete at the national level with students from the urban areas. At the school, we strive to create a stimulating learning environment for those children who otherwise may never have a chance at formal learning. Education is a vital tool to provide an individualized comprehensive program to accelerate and ameliorate the physical, mental, developmental, cognitive and emotional needs of all children. It provides the skills, knowledge and attitude necessary to help the child identify and nurture his greatest potential. Education with an intensive curriculum fosters a successful, healthy and fulfilling life which is actually one of the basic rights of every human being in this world. It also increases the feeling of self worth and instills self confidence which is essential for setting and fulfilling one’s goals.
Every child passes through unusual sensitivity to learning from between 3 to 5 years of age. In this time period there is an intense interest by the child in learning specific skills and this period has been identified by experts as, “a period of specific maturation aptness.” During this period it is important for a child to learn from tools that stimulate his/her intellect and enhance his/her ability to grasp conceptual knowledge. When a child’s creative energies are utilized in a constructive manner there is no energy left for deviate behavior. We have identified this need of the child and have devised a stimulating curriculum with special focus on the personality of the child from ages 3 to 5. As the child progresses into the next level, we focus on student-centered activity based teaching at the primary level with special regard to class ambience. The curriculum document for the primary level included the aims, goals and activities that were translated into a work plan and a syllabus. The syllabus concentrates on the child’s abilities to assimilate knowledge in an environment in which the children learn better when:
- They are actively involved in meaningful exploration of ideas
- They have an interest in the material
- They understand the need for the material.
At this stage we reinforce conceptual development and strive to enhance communication skills at the same time focusing on reading and writing. By now the child adapts to a more formal method of acquiring knowledge; at the same time considering learning fun and challenging.
Philosophy
Our philosophy is based on a vision to see doctors, scientists, writers, athletes and sportsmen, teachers and professors, lawyers and pioneers in all fields of life from this region of Pakistan. We endeavor to create an environment where the child can reach his/her full potential and contribute to the society as useful citizens.
Our children experience the world differently from us. The school is not only a place where children learn the alphabets or numbers but is a safe haven for children, where they interact with others and form relationships and alliances. A school is the first step towards a successful future. We help children to experience the joy of learning; we help put pieces together by understanding the developmental level of the child and will help the child make new connections and view the world as a place where he or she will be able to contribute as responsible citizens in the future. Our curriculum is based on our philosophy to provide the best education possible to children in order to mould them into understanding, tolerant, selfless, helpful and magnanimous human beings who set challenging goals for themselves and set about diligently in order to achieve those targets. We strive to impart education in a way that students of this region are able to compete on a national level and internationally in all fields of life.
The New Vision School was set up in 2001 with the motivation of offering quality and functional education to children from low income groups keeping in mind the above philosophy.
